Success at Leeds Teaching Hospital with the recent installation of a Whitley M35 Workstation
Date: 11th April 2022
"Using a microaerobic workstation has many benefits when compared to a jar. Firstly, due to the high workload and the large amounts of plates being moved in and out of the workstation, the workstation is much more convenient with regards to moving the plates in and out. The station also provides real-time feedback this not only alerts the laboratory to issues with gas cylinders becoming empty, it also means that from a quality control perspective any issues can be investigated with a large amount of data available for review.
Fluctuations in air percentage mix also appear to either not happen or are pretty much unnoticeable, this is likely due to much less gas being lost due to the airlock being flushed each time. There has been a noticeable reduction of gas usage, particularly Nitrogen. The new plate racks supplied are also particularly useful due to the locking strips that can be used to stop plates falling out of the racks.
The key benefits of working with Don Whitley Scientific are great customer service, quick response to issues with equipment and the familiarity we now have at Leeds with the same engineers we have worked with for years. These engineers always seem to be more than happy to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction."
